The problem of waterlogging at the Bhim Stadium has made it difficult for players to practice sports.

Although it rained a week ago, outdoor games such as cricket, football, archery and athletics have been discontinued due to water accumulated at the stadium.Amulya Anand, an archer, said, “Nearly 15 to 18 players practice archery in the morning and evening. They have no choice except skipping their practice.” He rued absence of a dedicated place for practicing archery, saying, “We had set up archery equipment near the athletic tracks but were removed from there. Now we use the football field.”Munish Sangwan, who provides cricket coaching at the stadium, said, “At least 60-70 players, who practice daily, have not been able to do so, due to waterlogging.”Laxman Saini, District Sports Officer, said a proposal had been sent to authorities concerned for installing drainage system at the stadium but nothing came of it.”He said authorities concerned had been apprised about the problems being faced by the players who practice at the stadium.Sources said players had not been provided kits for last two years and they were forced to purchase them at their own expense.
