Bhiwani, September 13
To ensure an impressive turnout for Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s rally in Dadri on September 18, senior and local leaders of the BJP are inviting people with a promise to make Dadri a district.
During his visit to Dadri, Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankhar, who had previously contested Assembly elections from Dadri, said that all formalities related to making Dadri as the next district had been completed and the Chief Minister might make the announcement in the rally.
Elaborating further, Dhankhar said that a Cabinet subcommittee was formed to look into the pending demand of making Dadri as the 22nd district of the state and it had completed its task and now the ball was in the court of the Chief Minister.
Badhra BJP MLA Sukhwinder Sheoran said demands of the area, including the district status for Dadri, would be presented before the Chief Minister in the rally and they were hopeful that it would be addressed on a positive note.
Mobilising people for the rally, Bhiwani MP Dharambir Singh, a former Congressman, said that the previous governments had ignored the genuine demand of Dadri. He said that people should remain hopeful of major announcements related to development projects for them.
Parveen Sangwan, who had launched a signature campaign, ‘Dadri for district’, said that Dadri was the biggest subdivision in the state with 172 villages under its jurisdiction.
Justifying the demand, he said that it was raised when Bhiwani was made district and later, Jhajjar and Mewat were given the district status, but Dadri was ignored.
Meanwhile, former Congress minister Satpal Sangwan said that it was a gimmick of the BJP government to mobilise people for the rally. He questioned that had the BJP government been serious about development in Dadri, it would not have given step motherly treatment to it in last nearly two years of governance.
